Come As You Are

Inclusive photography in the Macedon Ranges

You don’t need to change how you move through things or fit into anything.
We just work with what feels natural for you.

I’m an inclusive family photographer based in Romsey, VIC, creating a relaxed, welcoming space for neurodivergent people, LGBTQIA+ families and people of all abilities, cultures and identities across the Macedon Ranges and Melbourne.

There’s no one way to be a family,
and no one way to show up in front of the camera.

You don’t need to change a thing about yourself to be photographed, not your body, your clothes or the season you’re in.
You don’t need to wait until you feel more confident or more like yourself again. You’re already part of your story, and you deserve to be seen in it.

BODY IMAGE

We shape the session around what works for you. That might mean staying home, choosing somewhere familiar, keeping things flexible or just knowing there's always room to slow down, change direction or take a break. Your comfort and safety matter, and we’ll work together to make the session work for you.

DISABILITY & ADDITIONAL NEEDS

I'm neurodivergent myself and so are my kids. I don't claim to know everyone's experience — but I do know that no two people move through the world the same way.
Some people need movement, others need quiet or space. Some take time to warm up, and some might not want to engage much at all. Whatever you need, I'll meet you where you're at.

NEURODIVERSITY

Whatever your culture, background, faith or identity — it's part of your story and I want to honour it. If something matters to you, tell me. I'll follow your lead.

Identity, culture & your people

What this really means?

It means less pressure.
 Less performing.
Less trying to get it “right.”
More space to just be as you are, together.
Because that’s where the good stuff lives anyway.

How I show up

When I’m with you, I’m not trying to make anything happen.

I’m paying attention. To how you are together, the way your kids move, the little in-between moments that are already there.

I’ll guide things gently when it’s needed, but I’m not asking you to act a certain way or do anything that doesn’t feel like you. If something needs to shift, we shift. If things slow down, we let them.

I work in a calm, steady way, keeping things moving without it ever feeling rushed or too much.

And when it comes to your images, I’m not changing who you are. Just shaping the light and colour so it all feels like you, as you are.

I’m a neurodivergent person, a mum to neurodivergent kids, and I’ve also spent many years working as a primary school teacher, so supporting neurodivergent kids and families is something I have real, lived experience with.

I understand how much can sit around something like a photo session. The build up, the unknowns, the wondering how it’s all going to go. And not just for kids - for you too. You still deserve to have this part of your life documented in a way that feels manageable and doesn’t add more stress to your plate.

I approach sessions in a way that’s gentle, flexible and responsive to what you need. Before we even meet, I take the time to get a sense of what will work best for you. There’s a questionnaire you can fill out with as much or as little detail as you like, just to help me understand your family, your needs and what feels important to you. From there, we can communicate in whatever way suits you, whether that’s email, voice notes or Zoom. There’s no expectation to jump on a phone call if that’s not your thing.

When it comes to the session itself, we choose a time and place that feels right for you, whether that’s your home, somewhere familiar or a suitable outdoor space. Nothing is rushed or pushed along. There’s time to pause, reset or change direction if needed, and no one needs to behave a certain way. Come as you are. I’ll guide things gently where needed and keep things moving in a calm, steady way so it doesn’t become overwhelming.

The goal is a session that feels okay to be in, and leaves you with something meaningful to hold onto.

Because your family deserves photos too.

NEURODIVERGENT FRIENDLY FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER
MACEDON RANGES AND MELBOURNE

If you’re not sure whether this will work for you, or your kids, or your situation…

you don’t have to figure that out on your own.

You can always reach out. We’ll talk it through together.

Just so you know...

That includes you if you are:
  • neurodivergent
  • part of the LGBTQIA+ community
  • living with a disability or additional needs
  • in a body that doesn’t often feel seen in photos
  • from any culture, background or faith
  • Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
  • part of a family that doesn’t fit the usual mould

You don’t need to explain yourself.

You don’t need to be anything other than who you already are.

You're welcome here!

I’m always learning as I go. I know I won’t get everything right, and I don’t expect to. But I do care about creating a space that feels safe, respectful and inclusive.

If there’s something I’ve missed, or something that could be done better, you’re always welcome to let me know.

I’ll listen.

A small note

Let's not miss another single second of your beautiful life.
